Not-for-profit Code Your Future making tech jobs a reality for refugees

A not-for-profit is tackling the digital skills gap and helping those in need in one fell swoop with a skills workshop aimed at refugees.

Following successful launches in London and Glasgow, Code Your Future is bringing its skills workshop programme to the Greater Manchester area.

Many refugees who come to the UK are multilingual, highly educated and simply hoping for a better life. Code Your Future launched last year to help them get the necessary skills to find jobs within the growing and in-demand digital sector.

The organisation offers a six-month crash course in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, providing its students with laptops and travel expenses.

Daniel Koseoglu said: “This programme from Code Your Future is an example of just how thriving the digital sector is, but just how in need of highly-skilled specialists it is.

“It’s great to see Code Your Future tackling the digital skills gap in a way that benefits some of the most disadvantaged individuals in the country. Truly inspiring.”
