Affecto is recruiting for a Quality Performance Engineer who will play a critical role within our client’s business by developing, implementing and maintaining the key competencies and processes required for performance testing.

What will you be doing?

• Utilise performance tools to design and execute load and performance tests across a diverse technology stack
• Develop data-driven automated performance scripts and execute performance and load testing of products
• Design and execute daily load Build Validation Tests as well as larger, system-level tests
• Maintain the test lab for performance testing
• Monitor, gather, and communicate application performance issues; provide recommendations for improvements where applicable
• Develop and document performance test plans that include measures, desired results and standards
• Assess the test designs and work with appropriate teams to ensure sufficient test data
• Maintain and adopt common performance testing processes and practices across different products

What experience do you need?

• 3+ years of performance testing experience in a professional software development environment
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with standard Java utilities such as jstat, jcmd, JFR (or similar enterprise-class performance testing tools)
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools
• Experience in writing SQL queries for data validation and for creating monitoring dashboards
• Coding experience in Java/groovy functions as well as shell scripting
• Ability to code advanced load test scripts and technical performance test plans
• Ability to interact with project teams which include project managers, business and functional analysts, developers and the business community directly related to Quality Assurance responsibilities and roles
• Awareness of industry performance standards
• Good understanding of performance testing for Azure/AWS/GC architecture
• Knowledge and ability to handle Linux machines
• Understand load test environments and the application architecture
• Ability to troubleshoot performance and load issues in the test environment
