Job Ref: 2316
Having successfully stood up a full development function last year for the EdTech division of one of the UK’s largest software houses, we’re now concentrated of phase 2 of this exciting project, adding 2 PHP Developers to the team.
Historically, the business’ offices were based in Sheffield but having transitioned really well to remote working, they have no plans to establish a permanent presence in future, making this a 100% remote opportunity.
What will you be doing?
As a PHP Developer, you’ll be primarily responsible for developing back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the userbase. Your focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You’ll also look after the integration of front-end elements, built by the Front-End team, into the application. Therefore, an understanding of FE technologies would be beneficial.
What technical experience do you need?
- Strong, commercial PHP experience, ideally with an understanding of MVC design patterns
- Track record of delivering robust web-based applications
- Appreciation of Front-End technologies would be beneficial
- Good knowledge of relational databases
- Any exposure to Vue, Laravel and AWS services would be great but not essential
This opportunity will suit a PHP Developer looking for an opportunity that blends the security, structure and training of a large scale enterprise with the culture, dynamism and excitement of a smaller independent.
