Java Software Engineer

We’re looking for a talented Software Engineer, ideally with significant core Java experience, to join an innovative Sheffield based tech business who, after significant investment have created an exciting product portfolio, to compliment the bespoke build side of the business.

Over the years, we have helped scale all of their technical teams and are excited to support them as they continue to expand their software engineering team.

What will you be doing?

Development of the core business systems, working on a range of greenfield projects such as API’s, system integration, data processing, maintenance of existing legacy systems.

You’ll also be:

·Working in a team of some of the area’s leading software engineers and technical minds in a truly collaboratively.

·Developing technically complex solutions and elegant code to solve a wide range of business-critical problems.

·Working with cutting edge technology and tool kits, including cloud hosted servers and the processing of big data.

·Work independently and autonomously whilst being mindful of the wider project milestones and targets.

What do you need?

·Significant core Java development experience

·Exposure to relevant Java frameworks, Spring, MVC etc.

·Comfortable with pull requests, peer review and pair programming

·Experienced in unit testing.

·Non-relational database experience would be great – NoSQL, MongoDB etc

·Experience working in a Linux environment would also be beneficial
