IT Service Desk Analyst £25,000 - £35,000

Job Summary

Affecto is excited to be recruiting for a well established heavy engineering firm in Sheffield. We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Service Desk Analyst ready to get stuck in and join their growing team.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Providing IT support to end-users and the computer systems across the business

  • Making sure issues are dealt with in a timely manner, to a high standard and carried out in line with safe working practices

  • Providing first/second line investigation and diagnosis

  • Communicating with users – keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages, etc.

  • Working to ITIL v4 framework

  • Logging all relevant incident/service request details, allocating categorisation and prioritisation codes within an IT Service Management tool ie, Lansweeper

  • Ensuring that all system and operating documentation and knowledge is up to date and properly utilised

  • Resolving incidents/service requests when first contacted whenever possible

  • Escalating incidents/service requests that cannot be resolved within agreed timescales

  • Be available on both a planned On-call support rota and on occasional ad-hoc basis for essential out of hours work in conjunction or association with other team members or the wider business community

  • Supporting service deployment activities

 

What skills do you need?

Essential 

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths & English at grade C and above

  • Excellent IT software skills in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems version 10 & 11 and Microsoft Office 2016 and above

  • Wide range of Hardware skills: PC’s, Laptops, Smartphones and tablets

  • Experience of working in an IT service desk environment

  • The ability to work under pressure

  • A professional approach with a high level of integrity

  • Strong Teamwork ethic – ability to work as a team member and interact at all levels within the Company

  • Flexibility for out of hours/on-call and weekend work

 

Desirable

  • A/AS Level in IT

  • IT related degree

  • Other relevant IT qualification (Microsoft Certified Professional, CompTIA A+, ITIL v4 Foundation)

  • Cyber Security Awareness

  • ITIL Framework

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Solution focused thinking

  • The ability to work on own initiative
