Job Summary
Affecto is excited to be recruiting for a well established heavy engineering firm in Sheffield. We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Project Manager ready to get stuck in and join their growing team.
What will you be doing?
- Ensuring the consistent design of appropriate services, service management information systems, architectures, technology, processes, information and metrics to meet current and evolving business outcomes and requirements
- Work to ITIL v4 framework
- Coordinating interfaces between design coordination, service transition planning and reporting and other processes
- Managing the quality criteria, requirements and handover points between the service design stage and service strategy and service transition
- Coordinating all design activities across projects, changes, suppliers and support teams, and managing schedules, resources and conflicts where required
- Planning and coordinating the resources and capabilities required to design new or changed services
- Ensuring that appropriate service designs and/or SDPs (Service Design Package) are produced and that they are handed over to service transition as agreed
- Deal with all the change control and risk management processes, making sure they are maintained and that project stakeholders are kept focused
- Ensuring that all service models and service solution designs conform to strategic, architectural, governance and other corporate requirements
- Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of service design activities and processes
- Coordinating service transition activities across projects, suppliers and service teams
- Ensuring that the final delivery of each service transition meets the agreed customer and stakeholder requirements specified in the service design package
- Organising and running meetings with key client personnel and of managing project input
- Escalating incidents/service requests that cannot be resolved within agreed timescales
- Communication with users – keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages, etc.
- Ensuring that all system and operating documentation and knowledge is up to date and properly utilised
- Supporting service deployment activities
What skills do you need?
Essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths & English at grade C and above
- PRINCE2, APM and MSP
- Industry Standard Delivery Lifecycles: Waterfall and Agile
- Experience of working in an IT service desk environment
- Good communication skills
- ITIL Framework
- Excellent organisational skills
- Solution focused thinking
- The ability to work on own initiative
Desirable
- A/AS Level in IT
- IT related degree
- Other relevant IT qualification (Microsoft Certified Professional, CompTIA A+, ITIL v4 Foundation)
- IT Hardware skills: Workstation, server and networking
- Flexibility for out of hours/on-call and weekend work
