IT ERP Support Specialist 35,000 - 40,000

Affecto is excited to be recruiting for a well established heavy engineering firm in Sheffield. We are looking for an enthusiastic IT ERP Support Specialist ready to get stuck in and join their growing team.


What will you be doing?

  • Working with the business team to provide functional and technical support for the platform and related system-environments; monitor the system daily and respond in a timely manner to security, usability concerns and resolving any service desk requests.
  • Working with the IT team, other departments, and external vendors to achieve business goals.
  • Working to ITIL v4 framework
  • Participating in the design and development of new services
  • Participating in projects, not only during service design and service transition, but also for Continual Service Improvement or operational projects
  • Evaluating ERP processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement and suggest solutions or workarounds.
  • Developing, recommending and implementing strategies and programs that address business objectives.
  • Utilising your excellent relationship-building skills and ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and effectively communicate, prioritise and manage all aspects of an ERP project.
  • A desire to design and implement scalable best practice solutions
  • User system support; available and responsive to questions and support tickets.
  • Stay updated on the platform’s new tools, capabilities, and updates.
  • Be comfortable with change management to ensure we can gain user buy-in and user adoption.
  • Assessing risk, identifying critical service and system dependencies and defining and implementing countermeasures.
  • Designing and performing tests for the functionality, performance and manageability of the ERP service to support service transition activities
  • Participating in resolution of incidents and problems
  • Supporting service deployment activities
  • Communication with users – keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages, etc.
  • Ensuring that all system and operating documentation and knowledge is up to date and properly utilised
  • Be available on both a planned On-call support rota and on occasional ad-hoc basis for essential out of hours work in conjunction or association with other team members or the wider business community


What skills do you need?


  • GCSE or equivalent Maths & English at grade C and above
  • A  relevant IT qualification (Microsoft Certified Professional, CompTIA A+, ITIL v4 Foundation)
  • Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems version 2016 and above; Hyper-V/VMware, Azure (desirable)Communication
  • Skills and qualities: flexibility, good organisational skills, solution focused thinking, be able to work on own initiative, the ability to work under pressure, a professional approach with a high level of integrity, strong teamwork ethic, flexibility for out of hours/on-call and weekend work



  • A/AS Level in IT
  • IT related degree
  • Firewalls, switches, routing
  • Servers, SANsExperience of working in an IT service desk environment
  • Cyber Security Awareness
  • ITIL Framework
