Application Support Engineer – Sheffield c£32,000

My client, a leading software business in Sheffield, are looking to recruit an Application Support Engineer to support their UK wide customer base. Working in a fast-paced technical team, where excellent service to customers is paramount, your day to day duties will be varied, giving you the opportunity to build and develop a diverse range of technical skills.  

The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives in a technically demanding environment and enjoys working as part of team, sharing solutions and identifying process improvements. Responsibilities 

Resolving customer issues of varying complexity
Conversing with clients on the phone and online
Documenting issues and defects and improving current support processes by creating new articles, bulletins and advisories.
Maintaining SLA’s
Resolving time critical issues
Providing flexible support including weekends and out of hours

To be considered for this position you will need the following;

Experience working in similarly technical, customer support focused role
Some SQL knowledge would be an advantage
Service desk experience with the ability to organise and prioritise workloads
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree, would be advantageous but not essential
